About Wubby

Wubby’s slogan is also its mission: More Happy Pets. Wubby Pets was formed in 2021, during the peak of COVID, from the observation that with so many pet owners working from home, pets were getting used to their owners being home almost all the time, and there were a lot more pets suffering from separation anxiety as a result. The market for pet mental health products is still so young and undeveloped that its founder decided to dump all his extra time and savings into this project in the hopes of helping make a difference in the quality of life of as many pets as possible.

Wubby Pets does not claim to be a miracle cure for your pet’s separation anxiety. It can take lots of time and training to fully beat this disorder. However, through our science-backed product, we can help relieve your pet’s separation anxiety and give both you and your pet a happier life!

About the Founder

Josh Argentine is a lifelong pet owner and animal lover. He grew up with a house full of both dogs and cats of varying numbers, though the most common was 2 dogs and 3 cats. He currently lives with 1 dog and 1 cat. His roommate adopted their cat Dolly Purton, in 2020. Then not long after, in 2021, Josh rescued his own fur baby, Farrah Pawcett. Farrah is a little mutt pup that looks like a Mogwai from the movie Gremlins (comparison below). Wubby Pets is operated out of Josh's home in Asheville, North Carolina (there are a thousand Wubbys filling up his basement currently). The goal is to be able to continue to grow Wubby Pets into an entire line of pet mental health products.

About the Name

When my twin brother and I were toddlers, we carried around special objects that made us happy. Our parents called these our “wubbys.” My dad also used to leave his pajama shirt with my childhood dog, Macy, whenever we went on vacation. That is how I came up with the idea for the Wubby Pet Pillow. I think it is only fair for pets to have a wubby too.

Here is a picture of me and my twin brother, Zack, with his wubby: his “blue hammer.”
